Аннотация:Scalable gas emissions characterize the Dvurechenskii mud volcano (DMV) as one of the most active geo-objects in the Black Sea at present. This work is a first try to reconstruct the long term parameters of its activity and corresponding crater peculiarities and age. Used are expedition results from the EC project CRIMEA (2003-2006); seismicity and historical tsunami data; simple model of conical MV.
According to the seismic data MVs areas in the Black Sea have been aseismic over the last century. Therefore, an MV dormant activity have prevented from earthquakes (over 1.0 M) an area with a radius >20 km. Model and speculative connection "DMV eruptions - tsunamis" evaluate the crater as a result of ~20 main eruptions, started after LGM, and probable scales and time characteristics of the last main and secondary eruptions with mud outbursts.
