- Аннотация: This review addresses the recent advances of the MVCS method and highlights an evident progress in this direction. The benefits of this approach for the synthesis of metallic complexes, metal sols, heterogeneous catalysts, and functional materials are beyond any doubts. However, analysis of the literature data shows that, as compared with the 1970–1980s, the intensity of the research activities in this area have taken a downturn. Only a few scientific groups around the world are involved in the studies of this problem. The reason behind this relative downturn in the research activities is concerned with a lack of interest in this problem from commercial companies and with low investments. The point is that the performance of the MVCS equipment is low: for example, the production of even kilograms of the target product is still a challenging task. On the contrary, the cost of the products prepared by the MVCS method is high. Evidently, even though the efficacy of the advanced catalysts prepared by the MVCS method exceeds that of all existing analogs, its commercial implementation seems to be infeasible because the industrial process requires the production of tons rather than grams of the catalyst. This reasoning also applies to most other materials. Therefore, further progress of this method requires a marked leap forward in the development of innovative facilities that involve the state-of-the-art design of the advanced low-energy equipment with high performance and low consumption of coolants. We believe that, in the years ahead, this challenging problem will be solved
